Wedding Design Proposal vs. Real Wedding

This past summer our clients P & D hosted their elegant celebration at the Sunset Hill House in Sugar Hill New Hampshire. When we reached the design portion of the wedding planning process the bride showed us a few inspirational photos but primarily described that she wanted the wedding design to be vibrant and full of luscious local blooms. She exclaimed, “I want my out of state guests to feel like they are experiencing an elegant garden party in the heart of the White Mountains.” We planned and designed P & D’s wedding day in a 3 month timeframe to meet their August wedding date. Take a look at how her initial design plan developed into a real life garden party with the help of extraordinary vendors!

GENERAL VISION

The bride wanted to use strong tones of green and vibrant summer blooms in the color palette. She exclaimed that she wanted the reception to feel like an elevated Northern New Hampshire celebration which translated into tying wooden and rattan textures throughout the design. All aspects of the wedding were hosted outdoors with panoramic mountain views.

TABLESCAPE

We designed two separate tablescapes to correspond with the two different table sizes, rectangle and round. The bride loved the idea of a vibrant green table linen and the By Emma B team suggested that we pair the round linen with a green floral pattern for the rectangular table. The separate linen and layout of the floor plan added intimacy and personality to the large reception deck. We used the venue’s flatware, plate ware, and glassware, but upgraded all other elements of the tablespace.

DETAILS

The bride is a lover of shoes and when she disclosed to us that she would be wearing bright yellow heels with a bold ankle bow we knew that small nodes of yellow had to be incorporated in the design. Yellow flowers as seen throughout specialized floral pieces. You will notice the menus reflect small yellow touches and other small details of the day including signature drinks, cocktail napkins, cake accents, and signage has small yellow details.

CEREMONY

The ceremony location was at a private estate in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The couple had a heartfelt & personal ceremony with their close friends and family standing nearby. The florist created an abstract arbor to match the other floral pieces at the reception location.

VENUE

Guests had to travel under the pergola to access the dance floor tent and back lawn. We asked the florist to take advantage of these transitional moments by adding floral archways to each locations entrance and enhancing the property’s transitional structures. The florist created a floral curtain hanging down from the pergola ceiling, which tied all the vent spaces together.

THE PARTY

The dance floor and band were located on the back lawn of the wedding venue. We booked a frame tent to be safe from inclement weather and added custom light pendants above the dance floor. The dance floor tent had a floral archway, a floral-lined stage, and a vine-covered ceiling. We styled white and emerald green lounge on each end of the dance floor so guests could take breaks from the party.
